Your premise that education can change a lot for the good, I subscribe to wholeheartedly. I don't know if Chicago is the only culprit, most of the education system is 'technically oriented'. Here is an idea: every aspiring and current trader/ hedge-fund and banking manager could be required for a 'real world' 'check in' one month a year. (or even a few weeks for that matter). They should work in a shelter, housing project, school, small business or any other system that connects them with the 'real world' and people that are trying to make a living in it. Understanding the 'system' without experiencing it won't change people's actions.....
